What I like to call the flowers of peace 🕊️

Hi, I'm kelsea a nature and acrylic artist from Somerset but born in West Sussex. I don't know about you but lately I've started getting into the spiritual side of flowers, as well as their raw beauty. Because flowers have their own unique energy and emotions just like trees do, yet you always hear of people doing tree hugging, but hardly ever connecting to the flowers. Trust me it is an interesting thing to explore, because just like connecting to the trees or engaging with your pet, flowers can also be a win win spiritually and emotionally sometimes too, so let's dig in.

The flowers of peace are Dianthus, a soft climbing rose, and a water lily, but I'll go into more detail further down, because there such a range of breeds and colours of these wonderful flowers and they all have their own unique energy and beauty within them.

The flowers of peace 🕊️

Dianthus genus (white)

white carnations, peaceful flowers

White dianthus genus plants can come in many forms, including carnations, sweet williams and garden pinks, but my personal favourite one is carnations, because they're jsut so elegant and they have exactly the same vibe as a peace dove and makes a garden so much more peaceful. These flowers of peace thrive in full sun (but not as hot as it has been) and well drained soil, so even if you only have balcony pots, you can still make it feel more peaceful, especially if you're in a busy city and need a bit of peace.

Little rambler climbing rose (pastel pink)

These little ramblers are so cute and pretty, as well as really elegant and as a rose lover myself, I just love the sense of balance they give off, from the pretty traditional pink ones, to the peaceful pure white ones. I don't know about you, but for me the pink ones give me a sense of belonging, and the white ones give me a sense of peace and purity, which is exactly how you want your garden vibes to feel really. They are quite hardy plants (like most roses from what I know), apart from in extreme weather like frost or heat waves, so they're flexible on where you put them, as long as they have at least a bit of sun and you water them regularly, especially in the summer. Also when planting make sure to dig a hole twice the size of the roots, so these flowers of peace can grow and establish to make your garden feel a lot more at ease and peaceful. But if you're like me and rent and can only use pots, I'm not sure if these would be the best option, but I am going to attempt it myself and get back to you on that one in my future blogs.

Water lily genus nymphaea (pink)

water lily genus nymphaea, flowers of peace and beauty

Lastly, we've got water lily nymphaea, which is a breed of the genus variety of water lilies. Now it looks very similar to what you'd associate with spas and beauty places, and that is because this plant is also very peaceful and that's how they want your experience to feel. In my opinion this is one of the best flowers of peace there is out there, why do you think I left the best till last :) . So this wonderful plant is qute hardy and can deal with most htings, but just like the rose it can't deal with extreme weather of any kind. If you want to grow it at home, it's fine to, as long as you have a pond and you get the small compact variety and not the big one meant for lakes. Simply put it somewhere it's roots, the soil and pot will be 30-45cm deep in water and it'll get 5-6hrs sun light a day. Another way for you to make the flowers of peace part of your home and garden.

Of course I'm no gardener, but I will always be happy to help you in making the place a more beautiful and happy place to be. Or if you're not into gardening you can always have a look at my stuff, as I preserve nature and it's beauty and turn it all into art for you, so you cna still have abeautiful and peaceful home, but in a much simpler way. Have a good day :)

Kelsea x
