Yorkshire countryside inspiration

I don't know about you, but I love a bit of the good ol' Yorkshire countryside, full of nice natural inspiration, many places to go and lots of lovely food to have along the way. Here's my favourite piece of countryside inspiration to get us started.

Hi :) I'm Kelsea an acrylic painter and nature artist and my work is all about preserving nature, because I hate having to say goodbye to lovely nature scenes like this one above, and so my goal is to preserve them for you so you can have that beauty with you forever. I recently went on a nice getaway to the lovely Yorkshire and went to a range of places, including Knaresborough, Hawes, Harewood and much more. So on the first day I went to Keighley that had a beautiful stately home called East Riddlesden Hall and some beautiful gardens which is the picture you see below. From all the wonderful trees, to the lovely Yorkshire stone in the architecture, to the amazing colours and shapes of the old building......this is really going to inspire me, so much so that I am actually putting together a collection idea for both patterns and leaf paintings and can't wait to start.

The following day I went to Harewood where there's another lovely house and is the home of Emmerdale too, which I am a big fan of. As you can see there's not just lots of countryside inspiration here, but a fountain, lovely colours of flowers, nice leaf shapes, hills and of course the Emmerdale scenery of all the lovely stone buildings which has given me some amazing ideas. Like doing an Emmerdale styled pattern, a painting of the scenic hills and a floral pattern are just a few of my many great ideas that I'll be bringing to life very soon.

Then the next day I went to Hawes and my favourite thing about it was of course the Yorkshire countryside, but also the amazing village full of unique shops, lovely stone buildings and even a waterfall. I just love stone buildings, I don't know what it is about them, but they just look very beautiful and very inspiring too, from their age, timelessness, colours and use of stone in the exterior, but these will inspire me for a very long time.

Afterwards I went to Haworth which is such an amazing place that it's hard to describe, but this lovely Yorkshire village is home to the Bronte Sisters who were all poets and novelists back in the early 1800's. So there's a lot of history here at this lovely place and it even has some cure animals too, like this lovely turtle I saw and couldn't help but show you, because it is so cute and this is what I mean about there being lots of lovely countryside inspiration here in Yorkshire. There was also some lovely shops too if you ever wanted to go there and the inspiration I got from here were some paintings projects of old fashioned cobbler streets and of course a pattern of this amazing turle.

Lastly, you can't come to Yorkshire and not see sheep. Look how cute they are :) I saw loads of them, both on ground level and high up in the Yorkmoors, which were beautiful by the way. And this is going to inspire me to mix sheep wool texture and the look of grass together in a pattern, to do a painting of sheep in a field like this, a pattern of the Yorkshire tea bag haha and even of the wide open hills of the York-moors. Here one of my similar pieces of work so you can see what sort of work all this experience is going to inspire me to do.
